What Vanderbilt is Thankful For

Posted by Jerry McNulty on 11/22/22 2:33 PM

With Thanksgiving and other holidays just around the corner, we wanted to take this opportunity to appreciate all the good we have going for us, as a company. Vanderbilt continues to grow, thrive and be successful, because of a variety of factors. We also have things to be thankful for outside of the Financial Industry, from a societal and global perspective. Let us reflect on all that we are thankful for....

Our Back Office Team - Our back office and support staff team operates through the effective coordination of many nuances, systems, and platforms to create a frictionless environment – for that we are truly thankful. Our close-knit family-like atmosphere helps create a cohesive unit that helps support not only the advisors, as well as each other. Our Team knows that our clients come first and we work diligently to solve their issues and process requests so that the end clients can receive the best service possible. They are always willing to learn as well, whether it be a new team member bringing in something they learned before joining us or vice versa, we have a individuals always willing to develop personally and improve their craft for the betterment of the overall team.. We are grateful for the value each of you bring, as a part of the Vanderbilt family.

Our Advisors - Our Advisors personify Vanderbilt, they are "Diverse and Hardworking." Each of their businesses is conducted to reflect their values whether it's Traditional, ESG/SRI focused, or any other niche or non-mainstream means of investing, with an independent, entrepreneurial spirit, that will fit their's and their client's values and desires.

We love to think of our Advisors more like our partners as we love to collaborate on what can be improved upon at VFG. Through our Advisor's input, we established the Leadership & Advisory Council, that represents our advisor community as a whole, with any questions, concerns to share with the management team.

The G.R.I.T.T. Culture - If Vanderbilt is anything, it is our culture of Gratitude, Respect, Innovation, Teamwork and Trustworthiness or G.R.I.T.T.. Our Support Team and Advisors are the two pillars of creating and maintaining this culture. Vanderbilt strives to have both our Advisors and Team show Gratitude, Respect, Innovation, Teamwork and Trustworthiness when conducting business and make sure they have the tools to do this and they have not disappointed. G.R.I.T.T. separated us from other wealth management firms and our firm-wide dedication to this is a big reason for our success. Our core values are a rubric used by the executive team when making decisions.

The Pandemic Wind-Down - 2020 & 2021 were tough years as the COVID-19 pandemic affected both economies and the health of people around the close. 2022 saw the easing of restrictions and the beginning of the return to normalcy for most people. Although COVID-19 variants are still a factor in all of our lives, we have learned and developed ways to limit the virus's impact on our daily lives alleviating not only hurdles for the economy but for both our mental and physical health.

A Brighter Future - Last but not least, we are thankful for the UN's adherence to their Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) with the goal of making a brighter and healthier future for our planet. This is something we try to adhere to as well, with our LEED Platinum Certified office and commitment to renewable energy and resources. The SDGs are an international plan to create a sustainable planet by the year 2030 and with a climate crisis on the horizon, we are so thankful the international community is stepping up to try to create a more sustainable future.

These are just some of the things we are thankful for. We appreciate our Back Office Team and our Advisors and their support of our G.R.I.T.T. culture, as their commitment to their craft and embrace of our culture continues to make such an impact on Vanderbilt's success. While we will appreciate the healthier future we will have with the wind-down of the pandemic and the goals of a more sustainable planet. These five things are what keep our company and the world around us going.
